Elon Musk has hinted at shutting down the U.S. aid agency, USAID. In his statement, Musk said that reforms in USAID are not possible and that the agency is in the process of being shut down. He informed President Trump about the decision, and Trump agrees with it.
Senator Chris Coons strongly criticized the Trump administration for taking actions against USAID, calling it equivalent to damaging vital foreign aid programs.
Other lawmakers, including Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, expressed concerns about Musk’s influence on the government, stating that granting a private citizen access to sensitive government information could pose a national security risk.
