The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken a historic step by appointing the first-ever female manager for the Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team.
According to media reports, Hanna Munawar, a police officer with a strong background in operations and security, was appointed as the first female manager for the team ahead of the Champions Trophy. Hanna Munawar, who has experience with the Frontier Constabulary in Swat, will manage the Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team for the Champions Trophy and the upcoming three-nation series, set to begin on February 19 in Karachi.
Cricket fans, experts, and the media are curious about Hanna Munawar’s appointment, while senior retired bureaucrat Naveed Akram Cheema will continue to serve as the team’s manager. After completing the Civil Superior Services exam, Hanna Munawar has held various positions in security and law enforcement agencies. In addition to joining PCB last year, she was appointed the manager of the Pakistan Women’s U-19 squad for the Asia Cup.
Hanna Munawar is still employed with the Pakistan Police Service, and it is believed that PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi brought her on deputation to the board.
