Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported that Pakistan exported 185,0007 tons of fish and fish products in the first eleven months of this fiscal year, earning $379,207 million.
According to PBS data, fish exports decreased by 16.96 percent in July-May (2023-24) compared to exports of $456.668 million in July-May (2022-23).
In terms of quantity, the export of fish and fish products during the review period decreased by 5.44 percent compared to the export of 195,642 metric tons in the previous fiscal year.
Exports of marine products decreased by 26.74 percent to $37.053 million in May 2024 compared to $50.578 million in May 2023.
Quantitative exports decreased by 15.02 percent from 22,081 tons last year to 18,765 tons this year.
According to PBS data, monthly seafood exports fell 14.99 percent compared to April’s $43.586 million exports.
In terms of volume, fish exports decreased by 8.78 percent in May compared to 20,571 metric tons in April 2024.
Exports of food groups from Pakistan increased by 46.42 percent in the first eleven months of this fiscal year compared to the same period last year.
Food exports during July-May (2023-24) stood at $6,825,932 million compared to exports of $4,662,030 million during July-May (2022-23), according to the latest PBS data.
