K-Electric’s licenses for power distribution and supply have been extended by NEPRA for a further 20 years. This non-exclusive license renewal comes after KE requested one prior to the electricity sector’s liberalization.
In July 2023, KE’s prior 20-year license came to an end. KE was then granted a six-month temporary distribution license by NEPRA, which was about to expire in January 2024.
The decision to renew came after a thorough hearing that ended on November 28, 2023. Following the hearing, NEPRA has given K-Electric permission to carry on with its electricity delivery activities in Uthal, Bela, Vinder, Hub, Dhabeji, and Gharo.
