MARDAN: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police has appointed 76 legal heirs of police martyrs from the Mardan Region as Police Assistant Sub-Inspectors (PASIs), with appointment letters distributed at a ceremony held at the Regional Police Office Mardan.
Regional Police Officer Mardan Qasim Ali Khan distributed the appointment letters during the ceremony, which was attended by all District Police Officers of the Mardan Region and other senior police officials.
Congratulating the newly appointed PASIs, Qasim Ali Khan said the sacrifices of police martyrs remain a source of pride for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police and serve as an inspiration for younger generations.
He said the martyrs had sacrificed their lives to maintain peace and order, protect the lives and property of citizens, and uphold the rule of law.
The RPO said the induction of their heirs into the police force represents a continuation of those sacrifices and demonstrates the department’s commitment to remembering its martyrs and supporting their families.
Addressing the newly appointed officers, Qasim Ali Khan said wearing the police uniform was both an honour and a major responsibility. He urged them to uphold the law, serve citizens and make justice a foremost priority in the performance of their duties.
He also advised the PASIs to remember the sacrifices of their martyred parents and work to strengthen the reputation of the police department through honesty, dedication, courage and a strong spirit of public service.
Qasim Ali Khan said the history of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police is defined by the sacrifices of officers who lost their lives while confronting terrorism and other challenges.
He said the appointment of the martyrs’ heirs marks their entry into the same force and allows them to carry forward the mission, spirit and tradition of public service associated with their martyred parents.
