Former Malaysian football star Datuk Abduh Alif has married a 20-year-old woman, with the wedding taking place on August 27, according to Malaysian media reports. The marriage has attracted attention because of the 52-year age difference between the former footballer and his bride.

Abduh Alif’s younger brother, former Malaysia international player and coach Datuk Yunus Alif, confirmed the marriage and said both families had agreed to the relationship. He added that there were no obstacles to the wedding.

Family confirms the marriage

Yunus Alif said relatives and close family members had extended their best wishes to the newly married couple.

He also suggested that his brother may currently be on his honeymoon, which could explain why he has not been responding to phone calls.

A former teammate of Abduh Alif also reportedly confirmed that a photograph circulating online was authentic. However, the former teammate did not disclose the location of the wedding or provide further details about the ceremony.

Abduh Alif’s football career

Abduh Alif was part of Malaysian football’s successful period in the late 1970s and early 1980s. He was also a member of the Malaysia squad that qualified for the 1980 Moscow Olympics.

Malaysia later decided not to participate in the Moscow Games, meaning the team did not compete at the tournament despite securing qualification.
