RAWALPINDI, September 25: Security forces have killed 33 terrorists in separate counter-terrorism operations in Balochistan since September 21, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The military’s media wing said that on September 24, security forces continued Operation Shaban and targeted terrorist hideouts in the area. Five terrorists were killed following an intense exchange of fire, bringing the number of terrorists killed in the operation so far to 22.
Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the targeted locations, ISPR said, adding that a clearance operation would continue until the threat in the area was fully eliminated.
In a separate intelligence-based operation conducted in Nushki district on September 25, security forces engaged a terrorist hideout. Following an exchange of fire, 11 terrorists were killed, according to ISPR.
The military said the counter-terrorism campaign under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” framework, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, would continue to target what it described as foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism.
The statement attributed the attacks to “Indian-sponsored” elements and referred to the militants as “Fitna Al Khawarij” and “Fitna Al Hindustan.”
