A shocking revelation has surfaced regarding the absence of doctors at 246 basic health units (BHUs) across Punjab.
According to a report from the Punjab Health Department, 32% of the province’s BHUs have no doctors at all, while 22% have doctors appointed but not attending their duties. Additionally, 68% of BHUs have only one doctor, and 10% lack any medical specialists.
Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir has acknowledged the issue, stating that the recruitment process for doctors is underway and appointment orders will be issued soon.
