ISLAMABAD, Aug 7 : The Young Journalists Association (YJA) has planned a series of initiatives aimed at expanding professional opportunities for young journalists, including the opening of its new office, launch of a dedicated digital platform and collaboration with relevant government institutions to facilitate youth employment and skills development programmes.
The initiatives were discussed at an important general meeting of the YJA held at its central office in Islamabad under the chairmanship of President Muhammad Yousaf Khan.
The meeting focused on strengthening the association’s organisational structure, expanding digital activities and creating practical opportunities for young journalists through training, professional development and employment-oriented programmes.
The participants welcomed the planned launch of the association’s new website, describing it as an important step towards improving digital communication, providing information about YJA activities and connecting young journalists with professional and learning opportunities.
The meeting also discussed the formal opening of the association’s new office, which will serve as a platform for professional interaction, training activities and coordination among young journalists.
The participants further discussed constructive collaboration with relevant government institutions and youth-focused programmes to explore opportunities for young journalists in digital media, freelancing, online journalism and other emerging fields.
YJA President Muhammad Yousaf Khan said the association’s objective was to create a positive and productive environment where young journalists could enhance their skills, explore new career opportunities and contribute more effectively to the evolving media landscape.
He said collaboration with public-sector institutions would be pursued in a constructive and professional manner to benefit young journalists through skills development, training and employment-oriented initiatives.
Muhammad Yousaf Khan said the new office, digital platform and proposed training and employment programmes reflected the association’s commitment to the professional growth and welfare of young journalists.
The meeting also discussed the establishment of training centres where seminars, workshops and practical sessions would be organised to equip young journalists with modern digital and professional skills.
The participants expressed their resolve to strengthen organisational activities, improve coordination among members and develop initiatives that could provide sustainable professional and economic opportunities for young journalists.
The meeting expressed hope that the planned initiatives would contribute positively to the professional development of young journalists and help them adapt to the rapidly changing requirements of the modern media industry.
