Twenty students from the Department of Political Science at Women University Mardan (WUM), Session 2023–2027, have successfully completed a nine-week internship programme with District Police Mardan.
A certificate distribution ceremony was held at the DPO Office Mardan, where certificates were presented to the participating students. The internship provided practical exposure to general policing, law and order, investigation, operations, Safe City, Command and Control, police stations, Police Facilitation Center, Driving School, PDRM, DRC and Victim Support services.
DPO Mardan Masood Ahmad appreciated the initiative and highlighted the importance of practical learning and institutional collaboration. He said District Police Mardan would continue providing similar learning opportunities to WUM students in the future.
Vice Chancellor Women University Mardan Prof. Dr. Razia Sultana, who attended the ceremony as chief guest, appreciated the police department for facilitating the programme. She said field exposure would complement students’ academic learning and help strengthen their professional skills.
The vice chancellor also acknowledged the contributions of SP Investigation Maria Mustafa and PRO District Police Mardan Faheem for coordinating the internship, guiding students and facilitating their engagement with different police departments.
Students Recognized for Performance
During the ceremony, Sonia secured first position, Sumaiya stood second and Iqra secured third position. Certificates were distributed among all students who successfully completed the internship.
The ceremony was attended by Head of Department Dr. Nelofar Ikram, SP Investigation Maria Mustafa, ORIC Director Haleema Ikram, faculty members, supervisors, students and PRO Women University Mardan Kamran Khan.
The programme reflects Women University Mardan’s efforts to provide students with field-based learning opportunities while strengthening collaboration with public-sector institutions.
