LAHORE: Siemens Healthineers has appointed Evelyn Gunnewig as Chief Executive Officer for Pakistan, placing her in charge of the company’s strategy in the country as it expands its focus on healthcare innovation, digital transformation and AI-enabled technologies.
Gunnewig will lead Siemens Healthineers’ operations and strategic priorities in Pakistan, with an emphasis on strengthening partnerships with healthcare providers and supporting the adoption of advanced medical technologies aimed at improving clinical and operational outcomes.
The appointment comes as Siemens Healthineers marks more than a century of operations in Pakistan. The company traces its presence in the country to Lahore in 1922 and has since worked with healthcare providers across the medical sector.
Its portfolio in Pakistan includes medical imaging, diagnostics, cancer care, minimally invasive therapies, digital health solutions and artificial intelligence.
The company said these technologies could play an important role in addressing major healthcare challenges, particularly in cardiology, oncology, neurology and non-communicable diseases.
Gunnewig brings more than 15 years of international leadership experience across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, South Asia and Australia. Her background includes business growth, organisational transformation and strategic partnerships.
Commenting on her appointment, Gunnewig said Siemens Healthineers would continue to deepen its partnerships in Pakistan while responding to the specific needs of healthcare providers and patients.
She said the company would focus on applying its capabilities in artificial intelligence, medical imaging and digitalisation in areas where they could have the greatest impact.
“I see immense potential in this region, and my focus is on ensuring that our technology, expertise, and local collaboration translate into tangible progress,” she said.
Gunnewig added that the company’s priorities included helping improve clinical decision-making, strengthening healthcare systems and expanding the impact of medical technologies.
As hospitals and healthcare systems increasingly turn to digital tools and artificial intelligence, Siemens Healthineers said it plans to continue investing in technology, clinical expertise and partnerships in Pakistan.
