KOHAT: The Water and Sanitation Service Company Kohat (WSSCK) in collaboration with the Department of Environmental Sciences, University of Science and Information Technology Kohat organized an awareness seminar here on the eve of World Water Day on Friday.
The seminar was attended by Director General WSSCK Arif Rauf, Deputy Director Tahir Afif, Department of Environmental Sciences, KUST, Assistant Professor Muhammad Waqas, Director PMU KPCIP Gender Menhaz Iftikhar, Director Programs and Operations Ahtesham Abbas, Infrastructure Engr Zafarullah Orakzai, Manager Media and Communications Asma Ali along with a large number of male and female students.
Arif Rauf, Director General WSSCK told the seminar that youth are the future of our country and a valuable asset to lead and take concrete steps to solve water related problems.
Muhammad Waqas, faculty members of KUST on the occasion emphasized the importance of International Water Day and said that the time has come to solve water problems by using it in a disciplined manner.
He called for the prevention of water wastage so that future generations can fully benefit from this blessing and unique gift of nature.
Menhaz, Director Gender KPCIP enlightened the students and graduates of Kohat for the upcoming scholarship program supported by Asian Development Bank (ADB) under which female graduates of Kohat will be able to complete their Masters degree in various subjects from abroad on a fully funded scholarship.
Tahir Afif and Zafarullah Orkazai briefed the students attending the seminar in detail about the work and scope of WSSCK.
Students were specially informed about KPCIP.
It was informed that once the projects are completed, water problems in Kohat city will be completely eliminated.
At the end of the seminar, the speakers were awarded with plaques.
On the occasion of World Water Day, the participants of the event reiterated that they use water in a disciplined manner
