KARACHI: World Maritime Day 2026 was commemorated at the Pakistan Marine Academy in Karachi under the auspices of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Government of Pakistan.
The event was held in line with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) theme, “From Policy to Practice: Powering Maritime Excellence,” and was sponsored by Global Radiance Group of Companies.
Former Ambassador and President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Masood Khan attended the event as the chief guest.
The programme brought together maritime professionals, policymakers and industry stakeholders for discussions on key issues shaping Pakistan’s maritime sector.
The proceedings included a panel discussion and presentations of technical papers focusing on challenges and opportunities facing the country’s maritime industry.
Speakers highlighted the importance of collaboration, effective implementation of maritime policies and capacity-building to support a safer, more resilient and sustainable maritime sector in Pakistan.
The event provided a platform for stakeholders to exchange views and discuss practical approaches to strengthening maritime excellence and improving the sector’s future outlook.
