Woman Arrested in Peshawar Acid Attack Case

Police have detained a woman accused of allegedly throwing acid at a young man in Peshawar after he reportedly refused to marry her.

PESHAWAR: Police in Chamkani have detained a woman allegedly involved in an acid attack on a young man following an alleged refusal to marry her.

According to police, the woman, who was named in the First Information Report (FIR), was taken into custody after being discharged from hospital.

Police said the accused was also injured during the alleged incident, suffering burns to her hands, feet and other parts of her body after coming into contact with the acid.

The incident was reported at Chamkani Police Station, where a case was registered a day earlier following the alleged attack.

Police officials said the woman will be presented for remand after her discharge from hospital, after which investigators will question her as part of the case.

Authorities have described the incident as an alleged attack linked to a dispute over marriage. Further details about the circumstances of the incident and the condition of the injured man were not immediately available.
