UPPER DIR: Police in Dir Upper have arrested a suspect wanted in a double murder case registered in Islamabad, officials confirmed on Friday.
According to police, FIR No. 399 dated June 18, 2026, was registered at Abpara Police Station Islamabad under Sections 302 and 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The suspect, identified as Bilal Hussain, son of Haji Muhammad Hussain and a resident of Phangali, Gujar Khan, was accused of killing his wife and mother-in-law before fleeing the scene.
Arrest in Dir Upper following intelligence input
Officials said the suspect had been hiding within the jurisdiction of Dir City Police Station. Acting on special instructions from DPO Dir Upper Aslam Nawaz (PSP), police launched an operation and arrested the accused using what they described as modern investigative techniques and coordinated field action.
Transfer to Islamabad police planned
After completion of legal formalities, the suspect will be handed over to Islamabad Police for further investigation and legal proceedings.
Police vow strict action against criminals
DPO Aslam Nawaz praised the police team for the successful operation, stating that strict and indiscriminate action against serious offenders will continue. He added that maintaining law and order and protecting lives and property remain the top priorities of Dir Upper Police.
Authorities said efforts are ongoing to strengthen inter-district coordination for tracking fugitives involved in serious crimes.
