RAWALPINDI: A video allegedly showing Dolphin Force personnel assaulting a civilian in Rawalpindi has gone viral on social media, prompting an official inquiry. The incident reportedly occurred on Farooq-e-Azam Road in the Sadiqabad area.
According to police sources, the incident followed a verbal altercation on Sunday. CCTV footage circulating online appears to show four Dolphin Force officers physically assaulting a man, with one officer allegedly using the butt of a firearm during the incident.
CCTV Footage Sparks Public Attention
The CCTV footage shows the civilian attempting to avoid the officers while they allegedly continue the assault. The video has drawn public attention and renewed calls for accountability.
Local traders have reportedly demanded action against the officers and urged the City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi to investigate the incident.
CPO Orders Inquiry
Following the complaint, CPO Rawalpindi Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera took notice of the incident and directed the ASP New Town to conduct an inquiry and submit a report.
According to the police, strict departmental action will be taken if the allegations are found to be true. The CPO stated that misconduct or violence against any citizen will not be tolerated.
