The signing ceremony of the historic agreement between the United States and Iran will be held on Friday at a formal event in the Swiss mountain resort of Bürgenstock.
The confirmation was given by the Swiss Foreign Ministry in a conversation with the French news agency AFP. It said the location is near the central Swiss city of Lucerne.
The ministry added that due to its geographical structure, the area is considered highly secure and has restricted access, which is why it was selected for this sensitive diplomatic agreement.
The statement further said that the location was not only chosen by Swiss authorities, but also with the consent of mediators from Pakistan and Qatar, as well as approval from the United States and Iran, all of whom considered it suitable and secure for negotiations and the signing ceremony.
It is worth noting that the Bürgenstock resort has previously hosted high-level diplomatic meetings and international gatherings due to its restricted access and strict security arrangements, making it a secure venue for sensitive negotiations.
If finalized, the agreement is being seen as an important step toward reducing tensions in the region and improving US-Iran relations, although full details of the deal have not yet been made public.
Swiss authorities said strict security measures will be in place during the ceremony and the area will be partially closed. So far, there has been no official confirmation or denial from the United States, Iran, or Pakistan.
