SWAT – The University of Agriculture Swat has awarded scholarships to 75 students under various academic and financial assistance programmes aimed at supporting merit and need-based education.
The scholarships were distributed during a ceremony held at the university, attended by Vice Chancellor Dr Daud Jan, senior faculty members, administrative officials, and students.
The initiative is part of the university’s broader effort to expand access to higher education for students facing financial constraints, while also recognizing academic excellence across multiple disciplines.
Scholarship categories and ceremony details
According to university officials, the scholarships were awarded under merit-based, need-based, diversity and inclusion, and climate change and mountain agriculture categories.
The event began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a welcome address highlighting the importance of financial support for students. Senior officials, including representatives from financial assistance, academic, and administrative departments, were also present.
VC highlights access to education
Vice Chancellor Dr Daud Jan congratulated the scholarship recipients and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to ensuring equal educational opportunities. He said the institution aims to support talented students regardless of financial background.
Students receiving scholarships expressed appreciation for the assistance, saying it would help them continue their studies with greater ease and confidence.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of award letters and a group photograph of recipients and university officials.
