DUBAI: UAE cricket team captain Mohammad Waseem has approached two franchises, Multan Sultan and Islamabad United, to participate in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), ESPN Cricinfo reported.
However, he could not accept this offer due to his commitment to the national team.
Waseem’s cricket journey started on the streets of Multan, Pakistan, where he played with his friends. Although he played cricket at the district level in Pakistan, he found himself limited by opportunities for development and decided to look for another way. UAE Cricket was facilitated by a friend who invited him to participate in a tournament during Ramadan in 2016. After impressing in the tournament, he decided to make the permanent move.
Expressing his ambition, Waseem revealed that he wants to play in major cricket leagues like the Indian Premier League (IPL), PSL, and the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
“I want to play in all the big leagues,” he told ESPN Cricinfo.
However, he said his main focus is to represent his country on the international stage.
