Bollywood actor Tusshar Kapoor has reportedly received an extortion threat demanding ₹5 crore in the name of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, according to Indian media reports.

The 49-year-old actor, son of veteran actor Jeetendra, allegedly received the threat from someone identifying himself as “Harry Boxer”, a purported member of the gang. Tusshar Kapoor immediately informed the police after receiving the threatening message.

Mumbai Police launched an investigation into the incident. However, preliminary findings suggest that the threat may have been fake.

According to Indian media, the Crime Branch’s technical team examined the audio recording and compared the voice with official audio samples of Harry Boxer available in its database.

The voices reportedly did not match, raising suspicions that someone may have used the gang’s name to spread fear and create panic. Police are now attempting to identify the person who sent the threatening recording or message.

Several other Bollywood personalities, including Salman Khan, Rohit Shetty, Ranveer Singh and Tiger Shroff, have also reportedly faced threats or attacks linked to the gang.

On the professional front, Tusshar Kapoor was last seen in director Ahmed Khan’s film Welcome to the Jungle. He is also expected to appear in Rohit Shetty’s upcoming comedy film Golmaal 5, which will reportedly feature Akshay Kumar in the franchise for the first time.

The first film in the Golmaal series was released in 2006, followed by four sequels.
