ANKARA: Turkish lawmaker Ali Şahin has condemned a terrorist attack targeting civilians on a passenger train in Balochistan, saying Türkiye stands in solidarity with Pakistan against terrorism.
Şahin, a member of the Turkish Parliament and president of the Türkiye-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group, issued the statement on May 24. The remarks came after the reported attack on passengers in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province.
“I strongly condemn the terrorist attack targeting innocent civilians on the passenger train in Balochistan,” Şahin said, adding that Türkiye stands “shoulder to shoulder” with the people of Pakistan.
He said Türkiye remains committed to supporting Pakistan in efforts against terrorism and called for continued cooperation between the two countries on security and counter-terrorism.
Pakistan and Türkiye maintain close diplomatic and parliamentary ties, including cooperation through friendship groups and bilateral engagement on regional security issues.
