LONDON: Tom Cruise’s upcoming film Digger held its London premiere at ODEON Luxe Leicester Square, with Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, among the high-profile guests attending the event.
The royal couple met members of the film’s cast and production team during the premiere. Princess Kate attended the event in a purple gown and wore a necklace reported by British media to be associated with the late Queen Mother’s amethyst jewellery collection.
Cruise also met Princess Kate during the event and spoke with her on the black carpet. Director Alejandro González Iñárritu and other members of the film’s team were also present.
Former England football captain David Beckham attended the premiere with his sons, adding to the list of prominent guests at the London event.
In Digger, Cruise plays a character created specifically for the film. The actor has said the character is not based on a real person.
The film is directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Alejandro González Iñárritu and stars Cruise in a role created as part of the director’s original story.
Digger is scheduled for theatrical release in the United States, the United Kingdom and other markets on October 2, 2026.
