Suri, now 20, is reportedly using the name Suri Noelle as she begins a new chapter in college.
Hollywood star Tom Cruise and actress Katie Holmes’ daughter, Suri, has reportedly adopted a new name, dropping her father’s surname “Cruise” in a move that has attracted public attention.
According to People magazine, the 20-year-old is now using the name Suri Noelle. She is currently studying at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and reportedly used the new name during voter registration in October 2024.
The surname “Noelle” is derived from Katie Holmes’ middle name. Suri first publicly used the name during her high school graduation in June 2024.
Media reports suggest the decision reflects Suri’s desire to establish her own identity, support her mother, and mark a new beginning as she embarks on college life.
Katie Holmes has spoken positively about her daughter’s transition to university, saying she is proud of Suri and excited for the opportunities ahead, while also acknowledging that she will miss having her close by.
Reflecting on this stage of her daughter’s life, Holmes described it as an exciting period of self-discovery and personal growth.
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes married in November 2006 before divorcing in 2012. Suri is their only child and has lived with her mother since the couple’s separation.
