ISLAMABAD: Students and government employees across Pakistan may enjoy three consecutive holidays in November due to the observance of Iqbal Day on November 9, according to a report published on October 14.
Iqbal Day commemorates the birth anniversary of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the poet and philosopher widely known as the Poet of the East and the ideological inspiration behind Pakistan’s creation.
According to the report, November 9 falls on a Monday this year. With Saturday and Sunday falling immediately before the public holiday, government employees could have three consecutive days off from November 7 to 9.
Students may also benefit from the extended break, with educational institutions expected to remain closed during the same three-day period.
The anticipated holiday arrangement would provide a long weekend for employees and students. However, the final schedule remains subject to the applicable official holiday notification and institutional arrangements.
