In the city of Jalisco, Mexico, over 2,000 students set a world record by successfully completing a race while balancing an egg on a spoon.
Guinness World Records has confirmed that 2,039 individuals followed the rules of the race to break the UK’s previous record.
In a unique race held in Jalisco in 2024, nearly 2,039 students, dressed in egg yolk-colored clothing, participated in the race while balancing an egg on a spoon. They successfully completed the race according to the required guidelines set by Guinness World Records.
The record was achieved during an egg-themed festival, which had previously taken place in London, where 1,400 people completed the race to set the previous record, which was then broken by the students from Mexico.
The event, organized by the Tepatlán Poultry Farmers Association, saw the participation of nearly 2,700 local high school students.
Guinness World Records confirmed that 2,039 of the 2,700 participants completed the race following the rules, making it officially the largest “Egg on Spoon” competition in the world.
This event took place in Jalisco, a region that produces half of Mexico’s egg supply and is also known for its cultural and economic significance related to egg production.
In addition to the race, the festival featured other egg-themed activities, including egg breaking, cart races, bike races, and a cooking exhibition showcasing 100 different egg-based dishes.
It is worth noting that this festival is held annually, bringing the local community together to celebrate the record egg production.
