Thalapathy Vijay’s farewell film Jana Nayagan has recorded strong advance ticket sales ahead of its theatrical release, generating nearly Rs500 million (50 crore) in bookings for its opening weekend, according to Indian media reports.

The strong pre-release response highlights continued audience interest in the actor’s final film, with fans booking tickets despite reports that pirated HD prints had surfaced online months before its release.

Strong Advance Sales Across Southern India

Indian media reported that the film collected around Rs300 million (30 crore) in first-day advance bookings alone.

Tamil Nadu accounted for the largest share of ticket sales, contributing an estimated Rs180–190 million, while Karnataka generated approximately Rs70–80 million in advance bookings.

Fans Continue to Support Theatrical Release

Despite online piracy concerns, moviegoers continued purchasing cinema tickets in large numbers, reflecting strong anticipation for Vijay’s final appearance as a lead actor.

Industry observers have pointed to the advance booking figures as an indication of the actor’s enduring popularity among audiences.
