The viral reports describe the recovery of dismembered human remains from multiple locations in Chennai and identify the victim as 37-year-old actress Sandhya.
According to the original investigation, police used distinctive tattoos and later DNA testing to confirm the victim’s identity after parts of her body were discovered in plastic bags.
Husband was arrested in 2019 investigation
Police investigations at the time focused on Sandhya’s husband, Balakrishnan, whose statements reportedly contained inconsistencies during questioning.
Authorities said he later confessed to killing his wife following a domestic dispute. Investigators alleged that the body was dismembered and disposed of at different locations across Chennai.
At the time of the investigation, police continued searching for the victim’s missing body parts while pursuing the criminal case.
