SWAT: A high-level meeting was held on Thursday regarding the prevention of dengue under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Swat Shahzad Mahboob and the latest situation of dengue virus throughout the district and the measures taken regarding the prevention of dengue outbreak were reviewed.
District dengue focal person Dr. Fazal Arif gave a detailed briefing regarding the arrangements and the performance of the departments regarding dengue prevention.
“The current situation of dengue outbreak, measures to prevent the disease and various other issues were discussed in detail by the health department and other related departments.”
Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance Swat Abdul Latif Khan, District Health Officer Swat Dr. Muhammad Saleem, representatives of various departments also participated in the meeting ,while the assistant commissioners of all subdivisions participated through video link.
“Sanitation Services Company to start mosquito spray and fumigation campaigns to eradicate dengue mosquitoes to prevent dengue breeding.” DC Swat instructed.
He said an awareness campaign should be conducted in institutions so that people can avoid the effects of dengue in time.
Deputy Commissioner Swat further said that the health department should also make isolation wards for dengue patients active in hospitals so that any untoward incident can be dealt with in a timely manner, because people’s lives are very precious.
