SUJAWAL: A dispute involving teachers of Government Boys High School Mureed Khoso, the school’s headmaster and the District Education Officer (DEO) Secondary Sujawal has intensified following the suspension of four Junior Elementary School Teachers by the Directorate of School Education, Hyderabad Division.

The directorate suspended Kashif Ahmed Memon, Shiraz Mirbahar, Pawan Kumar and Ali Akber Khoso following an internal departmental inquiry through an order issued on October 13, 2026.

The suspension order has reportedly caused resentment among teachers across Sujawal district, including those serving at Government Boys High School Mureed Khoso.

Rejecting the departmental proceedings and suspension order, teacher Ali Akber Khoso alleged that the teachers had been victimized by school headmaster Ghulam Qadir Ghurmani and District Education Officer Shafi Muhammad Baran.

According to Khoso, the teachers had previously approached the DEO with complaints alleging maltreatment by the headmaster, including threats of harsh consequences. He claimed that instead of action being taken against the headmaster, the teachers themselves faced departmental action.

Khoso said the suspended teachers would pursue all available avenues to seek justice over what they described as unfair treatment.

Another suspended teacher, Kashif Memon, said his father became seriously distressed and fell ill after learning about his suspension. He said the teachers had joined the education department to serve the public and should not be subjected to what he described as harsh treatment by officials.

Shiraz Mirbahar alleged that the headmaster had previously been booked in an FIR in 1993 over an alleged assault on a student at the same school. He claimed that the headmaster’s temperament could negatively affect the reputation of both the institution and the teaching profession.

Mirbahar appealed to the provincial education minister to intervene, investigate the allegations against the headmaster and DEO, and ensure justice for the suspended teachers.

The headmaster and the district education officer, however, denied the allegations. They maintained that the teachers were suspended over professional negligence, including failure to attend school punctually and properly perform their assigned duties.
