Tom Holland’s upcoming superhero film Spider-Man: Brand New Day has received a 90% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes ahead of its theatrical release on July 31, 2026.

The rating is based on 145 published reviews and may change as more critics submit their assessments. The film had not yet received a verified audience score at the time of reporting.

Although a 90% Tomatometer rating indicates broadly positive reviews, Brand New Day currently has the lowest critics’ score among Holland’s four solo Spider-Man films.

Spider-Man: No Way Home remains the highest-rated instalment of Holland’s solo series with a 93% critics’ score. Spider-Man: Homecoming holds 92%, while Spider-Man: Far From Home has 91%.

Critics Praise Holland’s More Mature Peter Parker

Early reviews have praised the film’s emotional storytelling, action sequences and Holland’s more mature performance as Peter Parker. Some critics, however, described the film as overlong or crowded with too many characters and storylines.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Spider-Man: Brand New Day follows Peter after the events of No Way Home, when the world no longer remembers his identity.

Peter is shown living alone and protecting New York City as a full-time Spider-Man while struggling with growing personal pressure and a dangerous change in his powers.

The cast includes Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo. Sony Pictures and Marvel have confirmed that the film will open in cinemas on July 31.
