The upcoming animated film Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse has become the centre of attention after its trailer appeared online ahead of its official release.
According to media reports, the trailer was leaked on social media platform X this week. The leak also drew a reaction from the film’s co-writer and producer Chris Miller, who expressed his displeasure over the trailer being released unofficially.
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is scheduled to arrive in cinemas worldwide on June 18, 2027, and will serve as the third instalment in the popular animated franchise.
The incident is not the first time a major Hollywood production has faced an online leak. Last month, trailers for blockbuster films including The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day were reportedly circulated illegally on X after being shown in cinemas.
The Spider-Man franchise has previously experienced similar incidents. In 2021, the trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home was also leaked online several weeks before its official release, generating widespread discussion among fans.
The latest leak has once again highlighted the challenges faced by major studios in preventing unreleased promotional material from appearing online before its scheduled launch.
