Night Blackouts in Soan Garden – Mismanagement Exposed

2 Min Read

Islamabad: Soan Garden residents endured a complete electricity blackout throughout the night, due to the documented failure and negligence of Soan Garden’s management under President Mr. Iftikhar Khan.

According to the IESCO office, Media Town, Soan Garden is drawing power on a temporary arrangement from CBR Town and Pakistan Town feeders. Because of this unauthorized and unsustainable setup, IESCO has enforced a mandatory load-shedding schedule of 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM daily for the next two months, or until load conditions reduce.

This crisis exposes severe administrative mismanagement. Despite claiming to have executed multiple projects in the society, President Mr. Iftikhar Khan has failed to provide residents with a credible or substantive response to the hours-long outages. When contacted, he cited unrelated work while evading the most critical issue facing citizens during an extreme heatwave.

The Society’s complaint office confirmed it possesses no information on the matter, further demonstrating the administration’s lack of oversight and accountability.

As per IESCO, the root cause is Soan Garden management’s failure to secure a dedicated, adequate electricity supply. Residents cannot be penalized for the administration’s inability to plan, negotiate, or execute basic utility arrangements.

Forced onto roads and rooftops in dangerous heat, residents’ health, safety, and work schedules are now under direct threat. This situation is unacceptable and intolerable.

We demand immediate intervention by IESCO, CDA, and relevant authorities to restore uninterrupted power to Soan Garden and hold the society’s management strictly accountable for this negligence.
