ISLAMABAD: Ten students and two teachers from Islamabad departed for Moscow on July 26 after completing a Russian language course introduced under the Prime Minister’s foreign-language initiative.

The group was invited by the Government of the Russian Federation following the completion of the course at Islamabad Model College for Boys, I-8/3, according to the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training.

The programme was launched in colleges operating under the Federal Directorate of Education through a tripartite agreement involving the FDE, the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission and the National University of Modern Languages.

The initiative aims to equip students with foreign-language skills, international exposure and qualifications linked to emerging education and employment opportunities.

Officials said the students’ visit to Moscow marked an important outcome of the Russian language programme and reflected efforts to expand practical learning opportunities for young people.

The Ministry of Federal Education appreciated the support of FDE, NAVTTC, NUML and the Russian government in implementing the programme.

It said continued institutional cooperation would help broaden access to language training and strengthen educational links between Pakistan and Russia.
