Six killed in separate murder and road accident incidents in Swat

SWAT — At least six people were killed and several others injured in separate incidents of violence and road accidents reported from different parts of Swat District within a single day, police officials confirmed.

Authorities said three of the deaths occurred in separate murder cases, while three others were the result of traffic accidents across multiple tehsils of the district.

According to police, Shafi-ur-Rehman, son of Muhammad Rehman, was shot dead in the upper area of Utror valley in Tehsil Bahrain late at night. Initial suspicion fell on his cousin Shahzad; however, investigators later stated that Shahzad’s father, Mutabar Khan, allegedly shot and killed his own son. A case has been registered on the complaint of the deceased’s uncle, and further investigation is underway.

In another incident in the Kanju area of Tehsil Kabal, a minor dispute reportedly escalated when two suspects, identified as Hamza and Aziz, allegedly stabbed Rahimullah, son of Jehan Zeb, to death. Police said both suspects have been arrested.

On the same night, in Alam Ganj area of Tehsil Charbagh, unidentified individuals allegedly tortured and killed Azmat, son of Barkat, a resident of Bajaur who was living in Alam Ganj. His body was found along a roadside. Police in Charbagh said a search operation is ongoing to arrest those involved.

In separate road accidents, an 11-year-old boy, Umair, son of Muhammad Ishaq, was killed after being hit by a speeding car in the Dadhara area of Tehsil Kabal. The driver fled the scene. Police have registered a case against Abdullah, son of Muhammad Ali, a resident of Kabal.

In Bagh Dheri area of Tehsil Khwazakhela, a speeding vehicle struck two pedestrians, killing 25-year-old Muhammad Asim, son of Hanif Khan, on the spot and seriously injuring his companion Salman. Police arrested the driver, identified as Izhar, a resident of Sakhra in Tehsil Matta.

Additionally, two pickup vehicles collided near Kanju Bridge, leaving three people, including two children, injured. The injured were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment. Police said separate cases have been registered and investigations are in progress.
