PESHAWAR: Six Federal Constabulary personnel were martyred while repelling an attack by militants in the Hassan Khel area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to official sources. Security forces launched a counter-operation following the attack, killing eight militants during the exchange of fire.
The incident highlights the continuing security challenges in Pakistan’s northwestern region, where law enforcement and security personnel remain engaged in counterterrorism operations against militant groups.
According to sources, the attackers targeted a Federal Constabulary position in Hassan Khel. Security personnel responded immediately, preventing the attackers from achieving their objective. During the operation, six Federal Constabulary personnel lost their lives while fighting the militants.
The martyred personnel were identified as Naik Aamir, Lance Naik Muhammad Yousaf, Lance Naik Muhammad Riaz, Sepoy Ajmer, Ehsan, and Riaz. Funeral prayers for the fallen personnel were offered with senior government and police officials in attendance, including Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State Talal Chaudhry.
Officials Pay Tribute To Martyred Personnel
Speaking after the funeral prayers, government officials expressed condolences to the families of the deceased personnel and paid tribute to their service and sacrifice.
Mohsin Naqvi said the sacrifices made by security personnel would not be forgotten and assured the families that the government would stand by them. Talal Chaudhry stated that the country remained united in its efforts against terrorism.
Security Concerns Along The Afghanistan Border
The attack comes amid ongoing concerns over cross-border militancy and security threats in the region. Pakistani officials have repeatedly called for effective measures to prevent militant groups from using Afghan territory to launch attacks inside Pakistan.
Security analysts note that Pakistan has consistently raised concerns with Afghan authorities regarding the presence of militant networks operating near the border. The issue remains a key component of regional security discussions between the two countries.

Security forces continue operations against militant groups across different parts of the country as part of broader counterterrorism efforts aimed at improving security and preventing attacks on civilians and state institutions.
