KARACHI: Sindh has recorded 117,016 malaria cases so far this year, according to statistics released by the provincial health department.
The data revealed that no cases of cerebral malaria have been reported in the province during the current year.
Hyderabad Division reported the highest number of malaria cases at 46,183, followed by Larkana Division with 33,785 cases.
Shaheed Benazirabad Division recorded 13,005 cases, while Sukkur Division reported 12,058 cases.
Mirpurkhas Division registered 10,898 malaria cases, whereas Karachi Division reported 1,087 cases during the year.
The figures indicate that malaria continues to affect several parts of Sindh, with Hyderabad and Larkana reporting the highest numbers among the province’s divisions.
