Nida Yasir’s daughter, Sila Yasir, has expressed frustration over people and brands recording her mother and family members without permission and later sharing the footage on social media.
In an Instagram Story, Sila described her experience at a recent event, claiming that almost every brand recorded videos of her mother without seeking permission beforehand.
She said being a public figure does not mean a person can be recorded without consent and have the footage posted online. According to Sila, she understands that brands create content for their social media platforms, but believes asking for permission before filming should be standard practice.
Sila also criticised people who record her family members while they are eating and later share the videos online with what she described as inappropriate captions.
Her comments have brought renewed attention to privacy and consent when public figures and their families are filmed at public events.
