SWAT: The University of Agriculture Swat (UoAS) and Pathfinder Care Foundation have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening student welfare, skills development, youth empowerment and community engagement.
The agreement was signed at a ceremony at UoAS by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Dawood Jan and Pathfinder Care Foundation CEO Brig (retired) Mujahid Alam. It provides a framework for joint programmes, awareness campaigns, training sessions, workshops, seminars and other initiatives for students and local communities.
Speaking at the ceremony, Brig Mujahid Alam appreciated the university’s cooperation and reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to supporting youth development, education, community welfare, skills enhancement and social responsibility initiatives.
Book Donation to Support Academic Development
As part of the partnership, Pathfinder Care Foundation announced plans to donate a valuable collection of books to the university.
Prof Dr Dawood Jan welcomed the contribution, saying the books would help promote reading, research and academic excellence among students.
The vice chancellor said universities have a responsibility beyond academic instruction and should help develop skilled, responsible and productive citizens. He said partnerships with organizations could provide students with practical exposure while helping them strengthen professional and leadership skills.
Partnership to Create New Opportunities
Prof Dr Dawood Jan expressed hope that the MoU would lead to meaningful and sustainable initiatives benefiting students, young people and the wider community.
Faculty members, administrative officers, foundation representatives and students attended the ceremony and welcomed the partnership, expressing optimism that it would create opportunities for students’ personal, professional and social development.
UoAS reaffirmed its commitment to expanding cooperation with public, private and development-sector organizations to strengthen educational and training opportunities, research and innovation, and youth participation in the country’s socio-economic development.
