UPPER DIR: Sheringal Police have arrested an alleged suspect along with the suspected murder weapon in connection with the killing of a woman in the Shagi Rondesh area of Upper Dir.
According to police, District Police Officer (DPO) Aslam Nawaz was informed that a man had allegedly shot and killed his wife in the Shagi Rondesh area.
Following the incident, the DPO directed local police to take immediate action and constituted a special team comprising SDPO Circle Kohistan Najad Khan and the SHO of Sheringal Police Station.
The police team acted promptly and arrested the alleged accused, identified as Zahir, son of Ghous Muhammad, a resident of Shagi Rondesh. Police also recovered a pistol believed to be the weapon used in the incident.
A case has been registered against the accused at Sheringal Police Station under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and Section 15/AA.
Police said further investigation is underway and all aspects of the case are being examined to determine the actual motive and other circumstances surrounding the incident.
