ISLAMABAD, Monday, September 21, 2026: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday expressed deep grief over the death of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, brother of UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
In a condolence message issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to Sheikh Ahmed for his services to Dubai and the United Arab Emirates.
The prime minister said Sheikh Ahmed had devoted his life to serving Dubai and the UAE with dignity and honour, adding that Pakistan remembered his contributions with respect.
Shehbaz Sharif extended heartfelt condolences and sympathies to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Al Maktoum family and the people of the UAE over the loss.
He also prayed for the departed soul and for strength and patience for the bereaved family during their time of grief.
The condolence reflects the longstanding close relationship between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, with the two countries maintaining extensive diplomatic, economic and people-to-people ties.
