Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film King has reportedly become the most expensive project of his career, with a production budget of ₹450 crore. According to media reports, the budget excludes promotional expenses, print costs and Shah Rukh Khan’s acting fee.

The reported budget places King ahead of Shah Rukh Khan’s previous blockbuster films, including Jawan, which was made on an estimated budget of ₹400 crore, and Pathaan, with an estimated budget of ₹350 crore.

Production Underway Since 2025

Media reports say work on King began in May 2025, with more than 150 days of filming already completed at multiple international locations.

Production is expected to continue until August 2026 before the film moves into its final post-production phase.

Large-Scale Action and Visual Effects

According to reports, the film will feature large-scale action sequences supervised by international action specialists.

The visual effects are being handled by Shah Rukh Khan’s production house, with the project aiming to deliver a high-end cinematic experience.

Shah Rukh Khan Set for Big-Screen Return

Sources associated with the production say King was initially planned as a conventional action thriller before evolving into a larger-scale action spectacle.

The film is also expected to mark Shah Rukh Khan’s return to the big screen after a gap of nearly three years, with the makers reportedly investing heavily in its action and visual presentation.
