Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, the creator of the popular artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, ChatGPT, made a shocking new prediction about the future of AI technology.
In a podcast discussion, Sam Altman predicted that his children will never be smarter than AI.
In simple terms, he stated that AI technology will soon surpass human intelligence in the near future.
He added that this idea will become a reality for future generations and will feel natural to them.
Altman acknowledged that AI technology is already capable of performing tasks that are impossible for humans.
However, he emphasized that this is not a big deal, as new changes are a natural part of life.
He believed that in the future, children will need to learn specific skills to keep up with AI technology.
Altman predicted that raw intelligence will no longer matter because people’s focus will shift to the ability to ask the right questions rather than just finding answers.
He stressed that human interaction with AI is evolving, and we will gradually need to engage with AI more deeply.
This means that the current method of asking basic questions to AI chatbots will become outdated.
Altman advised people to adopt new ways of interacting with AI.
He gave the example of early online chess models that were weak and lost to humans, but gradually surpassed them—he believes AI will follow the same trajectory.
However, he expressed confidence that humans will adapt to the situation and will not lose jobs.
He stated that throughout history, humans have always faced new technologies and managed to find new jobs.
