Lahore: Members of Bargad’s Local Peace Structures organized a community-led initiative titled “Sabeel Sab Ke Liye” in Lahore to promote interfaith harmony, social cohesion and faith-based climate action during Muharram gatherings.
The activity was held near Imambargah Qasr Al Imran in Green Town, Lahore, on June 18, 2026. Members of the Muslim and Christian communities jointly arranged and distributed cold drinks and refreshments for participants, while also handing out saplings under the concept of a “Green Sabeel.”
According to Bargad, the initiative aimed to connect faith, service and environmental responsibility through local community action. The sapling distribution was designed to encourage climate awareness while strengthening cooperation among people from different religious backgrounds.
The activity was led by Local Peace Structures members Fyma Butt, Saira, Abdullah, Rashid Butt, Mubarak Aftab Gill, Riffat, Rafaqat, Sana, Rukhsana, Shahida, Anees Bano, Sonu, Iftikhar, Ch. Abid, Khurram Butt, Kashif and other volunteers.
Incharge Meesaq Center Farhan also participated in the initiative. Community members appreciated the activity and joined the distribution, reflecting local participation and cooperation across faith groups.
