Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds has confirmed that Deadpool 4 is officially in development, giving fans fresh hope for the future of Marvel’s popular antihero franchise.
Reynolds shared the update during Fanatics Fest 2026, saying the upcoming film is progressing and expressing confidence that it will meet fans’ expectations. The announcement comes shortly after the release of the Avengers: Doomsday trailer, which has already generated excitement across the Marvel fan community.
Ryan Reynolds Hints at More Deadpool Stories
Speaking at the event, Reynolds said there are still many popular storylines from the Deadpool comics that have not yet been adapted for the big screen, leaving plenty of material for future films.
He also praised Deadpool co-creator Fabian Nicieza and comic book writer Gerry Duggan, noting that several of their stories could be developed into feature films.
A video shared on X showed Reynolds telling fans that another Deadpool movie is on the way and describing it as something he believes will be “great.”
Franchise Continues to Expand
The confirmation follows comments Reynolds made last year, when he revealed he was exploring ideas for the franchise’s next chapter.
According to media reports, the new project is being developed as an ensemble film that could feature Deadpool alongside several X-Men characters. However, Marvel Studios has not officially confirmed the cast or storyline.
Release Date Yet to Be Announced
Ryan Reynolds first portrayed Deadpool in the 2016 film that launched the franchise. Since then, he has remained closely involved in the series as both its lead actor and a creative contributor.
The most recent installment, Deadpool & Wolverine, became the highest-grossing film in the franchise and marked Deadpool’s official entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
No official release date, director or additional production details for Deadpool 4 have been announced.
