Peshawar: Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Senator Rubina Khalid on Friday said education remains the most effective tool to eradicate poverty, empower women and build a strong, aware and prosperous Pakistan.
In her message on the International Day of Education, Rubina Khalid said the day serves as a reminder to renew the national commitment towards promoting education and ensuring equal access for all children across the country.
She said the Government of Pakistan is determined to strengthen educational opportunities for deserving families, adding that BISP’s educational assistance initiatives are playing a leading role in supporting millions of children to continue their academic journey.
Highlighting the importance of girls’ education, the BISP chairperson said educating girls is a guarantee of Pakistan’s brighter future and long-term national progress.
Rubina Khalid said Benazir Educational Scholarships and the Educational Stipends Programme have enabled thousands of families to keep their children in schools, strengthening social protection and improving economic prospects for vulnerable communities.
She further stressed that investment in education is essentially an investment in the nation’s future, adding that only an educated generation can lay the foundation of a sovereign, self-reliant and prosperous Pakistan.
