Speaking on the occasion, Senator Rubina Khalid said the Benazir Income Support Programme carries the legacy of Benazir Bhutto, who dedicated her life to the rights of the poor and underprivileged. She urged women beneficiaries to draw inspiration from Benazir Bhutto’s courage and to raise their voices against injustice or exploitation.

The chairperson advised beneficiaries to immediately report any illegal deductions from their assistance, demands for additional payments, or misuse of programme funds. She emphasized that the assistance amount is the rightful entitlement of beneficiaries and must be paid in full without any deductions.

Rubina Khalid made it clear that no compromise would be made on the rights of beneficiaries and that strict and timely action would be taken against those involved in malpractice. She directed BISP officials to ensure swift redressal of complaints and warned that negligence would not be tolerated.

The chairperson also highlighted ongoing efforts under the Benazir Hunarmand Programme to improve livelihoods. She informed that the Benazir Hunarmand Portal is open, allowing members of eligible households to register for technical training in skills of their choice to access dignified employment opportunities.

During the E-Katcheri, 27 callers from different parts of the country raised issues related to re-survey, biometric verification, programme enrollment, and receipt of stipends. Directors General and relevant officers of BISP were present during the session to facilitate immediate action.

The chairperson listened to all grievances and issued clear instructions to the concerned authorities to resolve complaints within the stipulated timeframe, reaffirming the programme’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and public service.
