KARACHI: Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) and Senator Rubina Khalid has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic fire incident at Gul Plaza in Karachi, offering condolences to the families of those who lost their lives.
In a statement, Senator Rubina Khalid said she was deeply saddened by the loss of precious lives in the incident and prayed for the elevation of ranks of the deceased. She said she stands in solidarity with the bereaved families and shares their grief in this difficult time.

“The prayers of the entire nation are with Karachi,” she said, adding that the tragedy has affected people across the country.
Paying tribute to rescue personnel, the BISP chairperson particularly lauded Shaheed Farqan, a brave rescuer who lost his life while saving others during the operation. She praised his courage and sacrifice, describing him as a symbol of selfless service.
Senator Rubina Khalid also prayed for patience and strength for the family of the fallen rescuer and expressed hope for the safe recovery of those reported missing in the incident. She further prayed for the early recovery of all those injured.
The Gul Plaza fire has sparked widespread grief, with officials and public figures expressing condolences and appreciation for the efforts of emergency responders involved in rescue and relief operations.
