ISLAMABAD, May 4: Riphah International University (RIU) has launched the 6th International Students Convention & Expo (ISCE) 2026 at its Gulberg Greens campus, bringing together students, academics, and international delegates for a four-day event focused on youth engagement and academic collaboration.
The convention, running from May 3 to May 6, has drawn participation from more than 100 universities, over 250 international students, and members of the diplomatic community, highlighting growing global interest in Pakistan’s higher education sector.
Wide participation from academia and diplomats
The inaugural ceremony was attended by over 1,000 participants, including vice chancellors from more than 20 universities. Chairman of the Higher Education Commission, Dr. Niaz Ahmed Akhtar, attended as the chief guest.
Diplomats from several countries, including Kazakhstan, Mauritius, Yemen, Malaysia, and Palestine, were also present, reflecting the international scope of the event.

Focus on youth engagement and collaboration
University officials said the convention aims to provide a platform for students to engage in academic exchange, innovation, and cultural interaction.
The event features more than 35 activities, including competitions, workshops, education fairs, and industry-focused exhibitions designed to promote creativity and skill development among students.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Anis Ahmad said the initiative reflects the university’s focus on education that combines academic learning with values and practical impact. He noted that such platforms help students develop leadership skills and prepare for global challenges.
Organisers said the convention also aims to strengthen collaboration between academic institutions and industry partners, while encouraging innovation and research-driven engagement.

The event is considered one of Pakistan’s largest student-led academic gatherings, offering opportunities for networking, cultural exchange, and professional development.
Organisers expressed hope that ISCE 2026 will contribute to youth development, strengthen academic linkages, and enhance Pakistan’s profile as a destination for international student engagement.
