Mumbai: Punjabi singer Eikam Bawa is facing potential legal action after publicly claiming that he is the stepfather of Bigg Boss 20 contestant Reti Tiwari, daughter of politician and actor Manoj Tiwari.
Reti Tiwari has faced public scrutiny since entering Bigg Boss 20, but the latest controversy centers on claims made by Bawa, who has reportedly identified himself as Reti’s stepfather and alleged that he was legally married to her mother, Pratima Pandey, also known as Rani Tiwari.
Reti is the daughter of Manoj Tiwari and Pratima Pandey. Bawa, who is also known as Parminder Kumar Bawa and Eikam Bains, has repeatedly discussed his alleged relationship with Reti and her family in social media posts and videos.
According to the report, a Mumbai-based legal firm has issued a notice rejecting the claims. The notice reportedly describes Bawa’s videos, statements and social media posts concerning Reti and her family as false and defamatory, alleging that they could harm the family’s reputation.
The legal notice has reportedly warned of both civil and criminal proceedings if the disputed material is not removed. It also cautioned that individuals who republish or circulate such content could potentially face legal consequences.
The controversy intensified after Bawa posted videos questioning Reti’s financial circumstances and discussing her alleged family connections. He also commented on remarks attributed to Reti about receiving a monthly allowance of around INR 20,000 to 25,000 from her father.
Bawa subsequently questioned how Reti could possess expensive handbags, properties and luxury vehicles while reportedly receiving the stated monthly allowance.
In another video, he allegedly claimed that Reti and her mother were harassing him and also commented on Reti’s conduct on Bigg Boss 20, including her interactions with contestant Qazi Tauqeer.
The allegations and counterclaims remain disputed, while the reported legal notice represents the family’s stated position on Bawa’s claims.
