Rawalpindi: Domestic worker and brother arrested over Rs2.6 million theft case

Police in Rawalpindi’s Rawat area have arrested a domestic worker along with her brother for allegedly stealing cash and valuables worth more than Rs2.6 million from a house five days ago.

According to a police spokesperson, the suspects are siblings who allegedly carried out the theft during the family’s absence and fled the scene afterward.

Recovery of cash, gold and foreign currency

Police said the arrests were made using technical and human intelligence. During the operation, authorities recovered cash, gold jewellery, and other valuables from the suspects.

Recovered items include over Rs503,000 in cash, 1.5 tola of gold jewellery, 1,400 Saudi riyals, 125 Azerbaijani manats, 105 US dollars, as well as luxury bags, watches, and other items worth over Rs900,000.

Investigation underway

Officials said the case represents a significant breakthrough in the investigation, and further inquiries are ongoing to determine if the suspects were involved in similar incidents.
